
John Michael Bolger is a talented American actor whose library of work spans twenty years and can be seen on television and in films. John, also an accomplished author, has recently completed his first novel "Stoop to Conquer" a coming of age story set in the Hell's Kitchen area of New York in the 1980s.

As East Chicago, Indiana Detective Sergeant Martin Zarkovich, John shines in a plot sensitive, pivotal role in this summer’s tentpole block buster for Universal Studios “PUBLIC ENEMIES.” In Martin Zarkovich, Bolger finds the character he was born to play. “PUBLIC ENEMIES is based on the true story of legendary Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger (played by Johnny Depp) the charismatic bank robber whose lightning raids made him the number one target of J. Edgar Hoover’s (Billy Crudup) fledgling FBI and its top agent, Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale) and a folk hero to much of the downtrodden public. “PUBLIC ENEMIES” is directed by Michael Mann and is slated for a nationwide release on July 01 of 2009. The film is based on the true crime book by the same name, penned by New York Times best selling author Bryan Burrough.
Prior to his work in “Public Enemies” John is best know for his portrayal of the much loved FDNY Lieutenant Johnson on the NBC Universal hit television series "Third Watch".

The son of Irish immigrants, John was born in the South Bronx on June 27, 1956 and was raised in Long Beach, New York, where he was the first born and the only boy. He is dedicated to his family and was raised with strong Irish traditions. John is extremely close to his mother Agnes, his father John is deceased. In the book "I Love You, Mom!", written by Kelly Ripa, John dedicated the chapter he wrote titled "An Irish Blessing", to his beloved mother.

John Michael Bolger has acted along side of the most brilliant actors today. John can be seen in “Carlito's Way” with Al Pacino, with Danny DeVito and Arnold Scharzenegger in “Twin's” as well as, “War of the World's” with Tom Cruise, "Private Parts” with Howard Stern, and "Delirious" starring John Candy.
John has also appeared in several independently released films, including the critically acclaimed "Closer to Home", "Rounding First", "Seed", and documentary "The Artists of Hell Kitchen."
John's other television credits include, "Law & Order", "NYPD Blue," "Brooklyn South", "100 Centre Street", "Beauty and the Beast" , "ER", "Law & Order: SVU", and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent".
John landed the well recognized role in the nationwide PBS public service commercial promoting parental controls where John’s character offers the Mom “Vinnie’s watch”.
